Born in the picturesque small South Island Astronomy town of Lake Tekapo – “Sanctuary of the Stars” Bex Murray has always been surrounded by open space and good music. As she loved to sing and perform from a very young age, her mother Carolyn travelled hundreds of miles each week for six years, taking her to tap-dancing and ballet tuition and then on to singing lessons with the accomplished Vicki McLeod.

At fifteen her parents sent her off to boarding school in Christchurch which specialised in drama and music and it was during these period she was privileged to receive singing lessons from Malcolm McNeil as well as world famous Dame Malvina Major. During these years Bex‘s accomplishments included a performance with the New Zealand Royal Ballet, and singing along side such National icons as Jackie Clarke, Frankie Stevens, and the late Rob Guest. She also performed National Anthems at several international sporting events, and regularly at charity functions, and tributes such as at the Tribute for New Zealand’s most famous All Black Captain Sean Fitzpatrick.
  • Bex’s passion for singing and performing is evident, having recently relocated to Auckland to work with the New Zealand’s foremost mentors of talent Mr. Gray Bartlett
  • Her front cover and accompanying feature in October 2009’s NORTH/SOUTH magazine, drew enormous attention and led to interviews on national TV and in the Media
  • People love her strong and emotional vocals, coupled with a unique purity of sound and personality.
  • Bex has found in U.S. producer Brady Blade (Brooke Fraser, Annabel Fay, Nathan King, amongst others), a real convert to her abilities and is recording tracks with him in both Auckland and Louisiana.
  • Accomplished New Zealand Song-writer Dr Stephen Small quickly recognized Bex talents and has written new sound tracks and songs, which will hopefully reach beyond the Stars on release
  • Her recent performances before Robert Kennedy jnr, and Sean Fitzpatrick events have drawn huge applause, and she is scheduled to soon sing for another All Black legend Sir Colin Meads
  • New Zealand’s most Prestigious fashion designer Trelise Copper is supporting Bex with latest Fashion clothing to help portray their respective talents on the National and International scene.
“Bex Murray is one of my most exciting discoveries, and after recording several tracks with her the results were simply stunning! Immediately, record industry heavyweights were asking for more, from both sides of the Tasman! All my UK and Australian counterparts are generous with their praise, and confident that with the right song, Bex Murray will receive International acclaim.” –Gray Bartlett, MBE
